Founder of Modern Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga

Grand Master Choa Kok Sui

Grand Master Choa Kok Sui (1952–2007) was a visionary chemical engineer, successful entrepreneur, and spiritual master of Filipino-Chinese descent who revolutionized energy medicine by founding Modern Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga. By transforming ancient, mystical healing traditions into a practical, structured, and repeatable science, he created a global movement that continues to heal millions and bridge the gap between science and spirituality.

Demystifying Energy Medicine:
The Scientific Approach

Before Grand Master Choa Kok Sui (often referred to as GMCKS), energy healing was largely seen as a secretive, esoteric art reserved for a gifted few. Drawing upon his background in chemical engineering and decades of rigorous experimentation alongside doctors, yogis, and healers, GMCKS systematically codified the laws of subtle energy (Prana or Ki). His core breakthrough was demonstrating that anyone can learn to heal:

No-Touch, Complementary System

Pranic Healing operates entirely on the energy field (bioplasmic body) without physical contact, designed to work alongside conventional modern medicine rather than replace it.

The Principle of Cleansing

He established that diseased energy must first be removed before fresh prana is projected, preventing energy congestion and dramatically increasing healing rates.

System of 11 Major Chakras

Expanding beyond traditional 7-chakra frameworks, GMCKS detailed 11 major energy centers, mapping specific physiological functions and psychological states to each.

"
Pranic Healing is a science that utilizes natural laws and subtle energy to bring about holistic well-being. It is not based on mind over matter or faith healing, but on the systematic application of life energy.

Core Innovations & Published Works

GMCKS authored over 20 seminal books translated into more than 30 languages. His foundational text, The Ancient Science and Art of Pranic Healing (1987), served as the global textbook for energy medicine.

Pranic Psychotherapy
Application of subtle energy to alleviate psychological ailments, trauma, addictions, and stress patterns.
Pranic Crystal Healing
Utilizing natural quartz crystals to amplify and focus healing energy efficiently.
Meditation on Twin Hearts
An advanced meditation technique designed to activate the Heart and Crown chakras, blessing the Earth with peace while bringing deep inner healing to the practitioner.
Arhatic Yoga
A spiritual path ("Synthesis of Yogas") designed to accelerate spiritual growth safely through energy purification and meditation.

Global Reach & Organizational Infrastructure

To ensure that his teachings remained authentic, standardized, and accessible worldwide, GMCKS established two major global institutions:

01

Institute for Inner Studies (IIS)

Established in Manila to oversee training, certification, and publication across the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific.

02

World Pranic Healing Foundation (WPHF)

Founded in 1990 to spread Pranic Healing to developing regions, humanitarian sectors, and underserved populations.

Today, Pranic Healing centers operate in over 120 countries. His courses are taught in medical institutions, hospitals, and wellness centers worldwide, with doctors, nurses, corporate leaders, and athletes adopting his techniques for stress management and physical vitality.

The Humanitarian Legacy

GMCKS believed that spiritual growth and energy work must be paired with compassionate action. He established numerous philanthropic initiatives, most notably the MCKS Food for the Hungry Foundation, which provides daily meals, medical care, and legal support to impoverished communities across India, South America, and Southeast Asia. His guiding principle was simple: "When you give, you receive. When you bless others, you are blessed."

A Lasting Imprint

When Grand Master Choa Kok Sui passed away in March 2007, he left behind an enduring global ecosystem of certified instructors, self-sustaining foundations, and millions of practitioners. His legacy endures not merely through his books and techniques, but through the empowerment of everyday people to take charge of their health, emotional well-being, and spiritual development.
